Escher produced a variety of tessellations over the course of his career. He utilized math and symmetry, along with other properties to produce these tessellations. Much of his inspiration for these works came from his visits to The Alhambra in Spain. Their use for things such as stamps is a huge part of his legacy, and heavily contributes to his memory.
